From humble beginnings to working with Billy Porter, Joss Stone, Kimberly Davis and Teni Tinks, it’s been quite a ride for Simon Marlin pka The Shapeshifters, taking in teenage raving, mammoth DJ tours, seminal residencies in London and Ibiza, a global smash hit, being mentored by Frankie Knuckles and Simon Dunmore – and after many a testing moment, both musical and personal, nding a spiritual home in the Glitterbox family, the inspiration for a string of dynamic releases…
Showing no signs of slowing down, 2025 is set to be the most exciting year to date for The Shapeshifters. Having already scored a Beatport No.1, with over 2M monthly Spotify listeners, hints of a new album and a tour schedule bursting at the seams, Simon Marlin and his supremely talented team continue to break down barriers and set the musical bar ever higher.

Continuing to tour the globe with the same passion, enthusiasm and infectious trademark grin that has become synonymous with his DJ sets, the party island of Ibiza remains Spanish housemaster David Penn\’s most natural habitat and the source of inspiration for so many of his productions over the last three decades.
Last summer he entertained crowds all over the island from Hï, Pacha and Ushuaïa to O Beach, Café Mambo and Amnesia, whilst reinforcing his position as the #1 ranking Beatport House Music Artist of all time when ‘Satisfied’, an uplifting, party-starting collaboration with OFFAIAH on Toolroom Records, propelled him back to the summit of their chart once again.

Horse Meat Disco is a byword for Sunday night London bacchanalia which accidentally resuscitated the original dance music genre onto the world stage. The four-strong DJ collective of Luke Howard, Severino Panzetta, James Hillard and Jim Stanton began their disco shenanigans on New Year’s Day, 2004 at The Eagle, Vauxhall. Beside their famous well-hung equine neon logo (“Our Eiffel Tower”), their brand of reverential, revisionist bonhomie turned out to be its own form of futurism, restructuring the London nightclub pyramid. “You put music at the top and getting high or jiggy follows,” they say, “not the other way round.”
In the 20 years of their nightclub tenure, HMD have become a global brand. They have added monthly residencies in Berlin and New York to their London bedrock as well as touring week in week out around the globe. They are a rock solid festival attraction, persistent bookings which fanned from the initial impetus they lent the NYC Downlow, Glastonbury’s first LGBTQ+ space back in 2009. Each year they return to site for what has commonly been dubbed “gay disco Christmas”.
Act Three of the gilded Horse Meat Disco story saw the release of their debut artist album ‘Love and Dancing’ for Glitterbox/Defected. Jim, James, Luke and Seve have turned from disco enablers to creative, freewheeling disco inventors. Under the masterful tutelage of zen nightlife don, Luke Solomon (“The fifth member for the record, very much the daddy of it”) the boys fashioned a record gilded with the fleet-footed spirit of their disco forebears. Love and Dancing was the culmination of seven years’ work, fashioned from demoes the four had been working on simply for the love of making music. Free of cover versions and lazy samples, it is documentary evidence that disco has a present and future every bit the platinum-grade equal of its storied past.
The accidental phenomenon of Horse Meat is built on the shared good vibrations and aesthetics of their genre. As testament to the public love for their makeshift, DIY brand, no other disco collective has arrived in their lifespan to attempt to knock them from their beloved perch.

YoHoMo described The Illustrious Blacks live show perfectly: “Self-proclaimed Afro-Electro-Disco-Space-Punks, The Illustrious Blacks are unlike anything you’ve ever experienced. Part DJ set, part dance performance, part Studio 54, part Berlin underground, this NY couple know how to put on a SHOW!” With inspiration from Prince, Grace Jones, David Bowie and George Clinton, The Illustrious Blacks have a mission to fuse funk, house, techno and disco into their own electrifying and transcendental performances. As the result of a viral DJ set,
The Illustrious Blacks garnered international fame and find themselves touring Asia, Australia, Europe, the UK and Canada, with bookings in iconic venues like Sydney Opera House (House of Mince), Ministry of Sound, Hi Ibiza (Glitterbox) and major music festivals like Roskilde, Splore and Milkshake. Collaborations
include: Seven Davis Jr, remixes by Osunlade, Luke Soloman (Beyonce), Russell Small (Freemasons), Nickodemus, Tedd Patterson, as well as their own solo projects on Defected Records/Classic Music Company. They have expanded
their creativity to music production and remixing including a remix release of Jody Watley’s uplifting song “Everlasting” featuring a version produced by Amara Jaguar and the dynamic duo themselves.
They are also currently working on their debut album of ballroom inspired, cunty house tracks, psychedelic funk
and new breed/honey sweet pop to be released in 2025.

“Tedd Patterson is a real New York institution, he’s from the dance-floor. A product of the 90's heyday of Sound Factory and SF Bar, you can hear that heritage in his productions and when he plays... In my opinion a real torch bearer for all that is fabulous and legendary about NYC.” - Terry Farley
Upon his arrival in NYC via ATL in the 90’s, Tedd established himself as a rising star in the underground dance music scene. As the In-house record promoter at Emotive Records and then at Liquid Groove, Tedd helped both labels become established as the ones to watch and while doing so, Tedd began his own journey onto the main stage representing House Music worldwide.
After numerous guest spots at some of New York’s most famous clubs like Limelite, Club USA, Tunnel, Save The Robots, and others, Tedd was handpicked by Leslie Doyle for The Magic Sessions alongside all-stars Louie Vega and Tony Humphries. His specific sound made him a pivotal player at the party and exposed him to a worldwide audience. Legions of fans followed as well as the release of “Sessions Twelve (The Magic Sessions)" compilation on Defected Records.
His signature party “Vibal” earned him a 13 year residency at the award-winning club Cielo. Tedd served his loyal fans in New York while making time to headline at some of the worlds best clubs: Ministry Of Sound in London, Panorama Bar in Berlin, Pacha Ibiza, Stereo in Montreal, and he created a massive following in the South of Italy, where he still returns each year.
As a DJ, Producer, and Remixer, Tedd has made equally impactful appearances on celebrated, taste making labels like Defected, Strictly Rhythm, Nervous, Stereo, Junior, Unquantize, and Rekids, to name a few. His collaborations with Pete Heller, Eric Kupper, and Iberian heavyweights Chus & Ceballos have become house classics. Stateside, Tedd is a reoccurring player at Ladyfags’ Battle Hymn party in NYC, often in rotation at Brooklyn's House Of Yes and a few other NY Underground hotspots. He’s a fan favorite when his Horse Meat Disco family comes to town. And is sometimes a featured player at Glitterbox.
“My sets are about fusion,” Tedd explains. “I’m not an old-school soul, classics, or gospel house DJ, I’m adventurous, and my musical repertoire is very diverse. I like the soul that exists in a variety of musical forms. What appeals to me most is the fusion and contrast, that’s most obvious in how I program my sets. I’m not afraid to take a chance and that has become my signature and that works for me.”
“Tedd Patterson is one of my personal heroes. His artistry and passion for music laid the foundation for how I present music to this day.” - DJ Honey Dijon
